In May 2020, the Centre of Policy and Legal Reform together with its partners will launch a new project on monitoring trials related to the armed conflict in Eastern Ukraine within the framework of the UN Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme with the support of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Within the framework of the project, we intend to involve teachers and students of higher education institutions to the monitoring of trials in three jurisdictions (civil, criminal, administrative) related to the armed conflict in Donetsk and Lugansk regions, to receive relevant information on the status of compliance with fair trial standards in such cases, and on its basis to identify problems in the field of ensuring the right to a fair trial and prepare recommendations to overcome them.

The project will be implemented during the year in Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

We are now preparing for the first phase of the project and announce the selection of students involved in the monitoring.

Detailed information, requirements, as well as the registration form, can be found here.
