The Centre of Policy and Legal Reform helps courts communicate with users of judicial services
The Centre of Policy and Legal Reform, together with partner organizations, has released three short videos on the principle of transparency and openness of the court proceedings, how to participate in a court hearing from home and how to behave in court. The purpose of these videos is to provide information about the functioning of the courts, the standards of behavior, as well as online services that are available to citizens.
The idea about creating these videos came up during the meetings of the informal working group on communications that, in addition to the Dutch experts, included Ukrainian court staff: Uliana Uniat (Eighth Administrative Court of Appeal), Uliana Terekh (Chervonohrad City Court of Lviv region), Olena Rut, and Pavlo Bereza (both Halytsky District Court of Lviv).
The videos were created by lawyer/TV and radio host Yaroslav Zhukrovsky’s team, whose programs are broadcast on one of the Ukrainian TV channels. The idea was implemented under the joint project «Peer 2 Peer: Service-Oriented Courts in the West of Ukraine» by the Centre of Policy and Legal Reform, the Center for International Legal Cooperation (CILC, the Netherlands), and the School of Law of the Ukrainian Catholic University, with support of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Ukraine.
