Ukrainian Democratic Institutions During the Wartime. 2024 Interim assessment

The report analyzes the state of Ukraine’s democratic institutions during the war. It addresses such key aspects as the activities of the Parliament, the Government, the judiciary, local self-government, media, civil society, as well as issues of electoral law and human rights. The report covers the period from the fall of 2023 to the summer of 2024 and explores the challenges, achievements and recommendations for preserving democratic values in the difficult wartime environment.

The report was prepared by Democracy Reporting International (DRI) together with the Centre of Policy and Legal Reform and the Reanimation Package of Reforms Coalition within the project «Democratic Integration, Sustainability and Involvement» (Ukraine-DARE) with the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany. The opinions and views expressed in the report do not necessarily reflect the position of the German Federal Foreign Office.
