The German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit) was a state-owned organization founded in 1975 that implemented technical cooperation projects for sustainable development in partner countries. In 2011, GTZ merged with two other institutions — DED (German Development Service) and InWEnt (Capacity Building International) — to form GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), which continues this work within a broader framework of international cooperation.
