The goal of the project is to facilitate the effectiveness and efficiency of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) – the leading investigative agency designed to combat crimes committed by high-ranked public servants and law enforcement officers – through the assessment of SBI’s bureaucracy, as well as the internal and external threats for SBI’s independence. The assessment is both backward-looking as it evaluates prior performance and forward-looking as it provides recommendations for the improvement. The assessment sought to provide an independent, objective, non-partisan, professional evaluation of the SBI.
