{"id":3130,"date":"2016-10-31T22:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-10-31T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pravo.org.ua\/projects\/trial-monitoring-in-ukrainian-courts\/"},"modified":"2025-09-05T20:57:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T17:57:08","slug":"trial-monitoring-in-ukrainian-courts","status":"publish","type":"projects","link":"https:\/\/pravo.org.ua\/en\/projects\/trial-monitoring-in-ukrainian-courts\/","title":{"rendered":"Trial Monitoring in Ukrainian Courts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The\u00a0objective<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objective of the project is twofold,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>firstly, <\/strong>to strengthen the capacity of the civil society in trial monitoring and,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>secondly, <\/strong>to analyse monitoring findings in light of applicable international fair trial standards, identify gaps in the domestic framework that cause or contribute to lack of compliance with relevant international norms and draft recommendations to address these gaps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Outputs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Trial monitoring training for future monitors.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a training programme based on PCU\u2019s trial monitoring methodology for Ukrainian NGOs and on ODIHR\u2019s trial monitoring manual is developed;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>at least <a href=\"\/trening-dlya-sposterigachiv-v-mezhah-programy-quot-monitoryng-sudovyh-protsesiv-v-ukrayini-quot-zaversheno\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">50 candidates are selected and trained<\/a> on trial monitoring;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>50 trained candidates underwent mentoring programme with CPLR\u2019s experts in trial monitoring;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>25 trained monitors are selected for engaging to conduct trial monitoring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. At least 1,400 hearings are monitored.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. An Assessment Report is produced.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4.
