On Monday, March 18, the Centre for Policy and Legal Reform jointly with Reanimation Package of Reforms will hold an expert discussion “Ensuring the independence of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine: necessary steps”. The event is organized by the EU project “Strengthening the Role of Civil Society in Facilitating Democratic Reforms and Increasing Accountability, Responsibility, and Quality of Government” and within the framework of the core support programme to Centre for democracy and rule of law, enabled by the financial support from Sweden.

The discussion will focus on the following issues:

  • abolition of the Art. 208-4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which politicize the selection of candidates for judges of the Constitutional Court by the Parliament.
